Runescape
Runescape is one of the most popular MMORPGs (massive multiplayer online role-playing games). If you pay for a
membership you get additional features. It does take a while to develop your character's skills to a level where
you can enjoy all the benefits of the game. For example you can't go fighting against huge dragons until you have
enough of hit points (life energy) and combat skills (defense and attack skill).
Once you start developing your character you'll quickly become addicted and want new skills and more gold to buy
better weapons and other equipment. Almost anything can be sold for gold and the economy works pretty well.
Money is created when you sell something and it vanishes when items are destroyed or left on the ground long
enough without anyone picking them up. If you harvest lumber or metals you can create new items from them. These
are quite valuable so you can sell them. It's obvious that there's some inflation (devaluation of currency) going
on all the time because everyone is creating stuff much quicker than it's been destroyed. Which means that the
prices keep going up. If you buy a weapon today, it might be 5% more expensive tomorrow. So if you make money, it's
strongly suggested to use it quickly.
The world itself is huge. There are many servers and different areas to go to. You never know what adventures
await you behind the next mountain. But there are some things to be aware of.
The graphics aren't nearly as good as in World Of Warcraft. It also requires quite a lot of computer and network
speed. Then again, considering RS is a Java based game (runs on your web browser) it's pretty good. No other free
web browser based MMORPG can compete with it. If you are looking for a role-playing game that you can play anywhere
where you have a computer and an internet connection (such as school), Runescape is for you. You just login using a
username and a password and continue where you last left off.

Runes of Magic
Runes of Magic is a new free MMORPG. It is often referred to as the free version of World of Warcraft since
there are a lot of similarities. For example the character classes are basically copied from WoW.
But there are also many unique features. After a bloody battle you can rest at your own home. You can also
practise your profession. For example you can do alchemy in your own laboratory. Another great thing about Runes of
Magic is the dual class system. Dual class means that your character can have two character classes. This offers
more diversity in your fighting and other skills.
In addition to the computer opponents you can challenge other players on the PvP battle arenas.
